Privacy
We keep as little as the game needs, and we do not sell any of it.
what we hold
- Email address private
- To sign you in, verify the account, and reset a password. We do not send marketing to it.
- Captain name public
- It appears in the Ledger, on your profile, and in any standing you earn. Choose it knowing that.
- Run records public
- Each day flown, the depth reached, and the command log used to replay it. Depth and standing are public; the log is visible to you and, once a day has closed, to captains comparing their run against yours as a ghost.
- Patreon link private
- A tier and a status, nothing more. We never see your card details — Patreon holds those.
- Basic technical logs private
- IP address, browser, and error traces, kept 30 days, used to fix faults and stop abuse.
We do not sell your data
No advertising networks, no data brokers, no third-party trackers in the game client. We use a small number of processors to run the service — hosting, email delivery, and Patreon for payments — and they may only handle your data on our instructions.
Cookies
One session cookie to keep you signed in, and one security cookie that stops other sites submitting forms as you. Your display and accessibility settings are saved to your account, not to a cookie. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is nothing to consent to.
How long we keep things
Account data for as long as the account is open. Your depth, standing, and rating history for the life of the Ledger, because the Ledger is append-only and a sealed Turning cannot be rewritten. The detailed command log behind each run for 90 days, or longer if your patronage extends your history. Technical logs for 30 days.
Deleting your account
Closing your account removes your email, your settings, and your cosmetics. Past Ledger entries stay, but detached from you and shown as an anonymous captain, so a sealed Turning remains a true record of who flew it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. You can download a copy of your record yourself from Settings at any time. Under UK and EU law you may also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that is the ICO.
Children
The game is not intended for anyone under 13. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we close it and delete the data.
